Papa Reu and Baby Bash Unite on New Single “Back To You,” Available Now
The Reu Muzik release brings Caribbean influence and Houston hip-hop history together as Papa Reu launches the Vibes EP era.
HOUSTON, TX — Papa Reu has released his new single, “Back To You,” featuring Baby Bash, bringing together two artists whose musical histories intersect through Houston’s influential hip-hop scene.
Released through Reu Muzik, “Back To You” is available now across digital streaming platforms and serves as the lead single from Papa Reu’s forthcoming Vibes EP.
Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, Papa Reu has spent more than three decades developing a distinctive musical identity that combines Caribbean influences with the rhythms and attitude of Southern hip-hop. His recording history includes work associated with 8Ball & MJG, Cash Money and the 504 Boyz, including “Tight Whips.”
His collaboration with Baby Bash adds another dimension to that history. Known for crossover hits including “Suga Suga” and “Cyclone,” Baby Bash has built an audience spanning Houston, California and the wider Latin hip-hop community.
On “Back To You,” those musical worlds meet.
The single blends melodic Southern hip-hop with reggae and Caribbean influences, allowing both artists to bring their individual identities to a record grounded in their shared connection to Houston.
For Papa Reu, the release also marks the beginning of the next chapter. “Back To You” introduces the musical direction of the forthcoming Vibes EP. This project continues his exploration of the relationship between Caribbean rhythms, Southern hip-hop and contemporary melodic music.
More than a collaboration between two veteran artists, “Back To You” reflects the cultural intersections that have long helped shape Houston music — Caribbean, Southern, Latin, and hip-hop influences that coexist within the same musical ecosystem.
After three decades of recording and collaborating, Papa Reu continues to build on that history rather than revisit it. With Vibes, he is positioning his musical foundation as the starting point for a new body of work.
“Back To You” featuring Baby Bash is available now on all major digital streaming platforms through Reu Muzik.
