Matt Pond PA & Anya Marina Team Up for New Single "The Dog Told Me"

Just back from Matt Pond PA's Several Arrows Later 20th Anniversary tour in sunny Florida, it seems apropos he and Anya Marina would release the very wintery video for the newly released track, "The Dog Told Me."

Matt explains: "'The Dog Told Me' is about all the trouble in the world and the need to communicate with one another through a song. Anya and I wrote and recorded it together as a way to reconnect and find a common language after a long stretch of distance and uncertainty.

What starts as something personal widens into something communal: bodies heal, seasons turn, wars end, friends reunite, and life pushes back through the ice. It’s a quiet act of faith in connection, in motion, and in the idea that hope can still arrive in the form of a song.

This track is part of a series of singles leading up to a new album. After all these years of writing and performing, we’re still finding new ways to communicate and take care of each other — sometimes through music, and sometimes through our dog, Willa, who somehow understands everything before we do."
